Dodgers News: LA Signs RHP Beau Burrows to a Contract
The Dodgers made a pitching depth move on Tuesday with the reported signing of right-hander Beau Burrows. Several journalists as well as Burrows himself have reported.

The hurler made his MLB debut in 2020 with the Detroit Tigers and, well, instantly made a splash as it were…

In 11 big league appearances between the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins, Burrows has a 10.70 ERA over 17.2 innings pitched in the last two years. He’s struck out 11 but also walked 11, so control is definitely an issue for the now 25-year-old. However, he’s found a bit more success at the minor league level with a 3.79 ERA over 122 games, 108 of which have been starts.

Certainly, the Dodgers see something with the former first round pick. His mid-90s fastball and offspeed pitch mix is something the coaching staff can work on developing and possibly turn the righty into another dominant option out of the bullpen.
While it’s not yet confirmed, the deal is presumed to be of the minor league variety. LA’s 40-man roster is already maxed out, so it would have to be without a corresponding move.

Why do the Dodgers keep signing players like Martin and Burrows. They never hit or pitch, yet they get playing time that should go to the regulars. Last year it was Souza, McKinney et al.
Friedman really thinks he is the guru of baseball. Been a Dodger fan since 1957 and have never seen this many waste signings each year than since Friedman took over.
Muncy, Taylor, Bickford, Vesia…. a few of them work out.
