“Nothing’s For Certain” is a dreamy pop delight from Los Angeles-based duo veronicavon, comprising songwriters Chris Hackman (Human Barbie) and Xuan Nguyen (Xuan). The self-produced success emits a weightlessly melodic charm throughout. “Nothing’s for certain,” Nguyen sings amidst trickling guitars during the entrancing chorus, fully hypnotic and accommodating for daydreaming. Guitars and keys correspond beautifully during the “sometimes I wonder,” vocal bridge, driving seamlessly again into the blissful title-referencing hook. Aesthetically, I’m fondly reminded of Swedish act jj, with the lush pop entrancement and production smarts throughout.

“Nothing’s For Certain” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
