Bamberg attorney Chris Wilson said he outlined for law enforcement a series of events related to Alex Murdaugh and the multiple cases he was indicted on Thursday.
Wilson said Tuesday in a public statement he has spent the last several months telling State Law Enforcement Division about "a scheme (Murdaugh) accomplished by misleading Wilson about the position of Murdaugh’s firm, Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth Detrick (PMPED)."
“I am deeply troubled, disappointed and angry,” Wilson said. “I have known Alex Murdaugh for 30 years, but friendship doesn’t replace facts. Alex has to be held accountable for this situation and seemingly others.”
Murdaugh was indicted Thursday on 27 counts by the South Carolina State Grand Jury. In total, he is accused of laundering and defrauding almost $5 million through various schemes.
