A boy is dead after being struck by a car while riding an electric scooter in a Dinsmore neighborhood Tuesday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

He was crossing Rolling River Boulevard from Rolling Stream Drive when he was hit by a Chevy Camaro.

JSO said it appears the boy did not check for on-coming traffic before attempting to cross the street. Plus, there is not a crosswalk in the area where he was struck.
