Waiving Adrian Peterson wasn't the only notable move the Tennessee Titans made on Tuesday. In addition to parting ways with the veteran running back, the Titans offered a lifeline to another veteran offensive talent.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Titans have added wide receiver Golden Tate to their practice squad, providing some depth at the position.

The Titans' wide receivers have dealt with some ailments of late, so the team opted to bring Tate in to provide some cover. Tennessee placed Julio Jones on IR last week, and fellow wideout A.J. Brown was banged up over the weekend during the clash with the Houston Texans.
Tate last played in 2020 as a member of the New York Giants. The former second-round pick featured in 12 games last season, recording 35 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns.
After being drafted by the Seahawks with the 60th overall pick in 2010 out of Notre Dame, Tate spent four years in Seattle before joining the Detroit Lions. He was in the Motor City from 2013-2018, when he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles during the season. He then joined the Giants for 2019 and 2020.
Across his career, Tate has featured in 160 games, starting 114. He's caught 695 receptions for more than 8,000 receiving yards and has scored 46 touchdowns.
The Titans were embarrassed in a feeble performance against the Texans in Week 11 and are clearly open to exploring all options in order to fix things ahead of their playoff push. At 8-3, the Titans don't need to panic yet, but if things continue to trend downhill their lead in the AFC South will be gone before they know it.
