Fugitive NJ dad accused of killing daughter with baseball bat found dead

A New Jersey man wanted for allegedly beating his daughter to death and seriously injuring his wife in a vicious baseball-bat attack has been found dead, authorities said Tuesday.

The body of Gregory Kelemen, 57, was discovered around 11:30 a.m. in a wooded area around a mile from the family’s home in Voorhees, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said, according to the Courier Post.

Kelemen was found with “what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the office said.

The dad was suspected of carrying out the deadly bat assault in the family’s home early Monday, according to a probable-cause statement.

He allegedly killed his 22-year-old daughter, Katherine Kelemen, repeatedly striking her with the bat while she was in her bed.

His wife, Sheri Kelemen, told police she woke up when her husband started beating her with the bat.
