Indie Rogue-Lite Game Tunnel of Doom Out Now for PC

Tunnel of Doom is an indie, rogue-lite hybrid game that incorporates tower-defense elements with melee battle gameplay. The game was released today for the PC and was developed by Antti Vaihia and published by Digerati. Tunnel of Doom plans to release for the Nintendo Switch on Dec. 23, 2021, and Xbox on Dec. 24, 2021.

The game’s story begins in 1903 at a quaint town called Goldcrest, which emphasizes mining as their leading trade. When the mayor of Goldcrest suddenly decides to close the mine indefinitely due to an unknown incident, he leaves several miners trapped inside the mine. One of the people trapped in the mine is the husband of Angel, the game’s protagonist. Once Angel learns that her husband is in the mine, she is determined to rescue her husband and any other survivors she finds along the way. However, once Angel is in the mine, she realizes that finding her husband and escaping the mine is not as clear-cut of a plan as she thought, and she runs into trouble when she encounters unimaginable creatures hiding within the mine.

As the player, you will guide Angel throughout the numerous levels within the mine and help her survive against the raids of creatures that attack her within each level. To survive in the mine, you will need to set traps to prevent creatures from reaching you, gather resources and materials to build weapons or ammunition for your traps, and use weapons to fight against the creatures. You will also have perks that can enhance your traps and weapons or give you more resources for building. According to Tunnel of Doom’s official website, the maps for each level are randomly generated, so the perks and battles you encounter change with each run and new game. Once you successfully escape the mine, you will unlock a dream level that has an endless challenge for you to play.

You can check out Tunnel of Doom for the original price of $13.99 on Steam and GOG. Currently, the game is on sale for $12.59 on both Steam and GOG.
