Smashville NCAA Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase Up Next

The Eagles will face Colgate on Friday, Nov. 26 and then take on either Mercyhurst or Minnesota on Saturday, Nov. 27.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's hockey team will head south this week, traveling to Nashville for the Smashville NCAA Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase at the Ford Ice Center.
 
The Eagles will open up the tournament against Colgate at 1 p.m. CST on Friday, Nov. 26 and then face either Minnesota or Mercyhurst on Saturday, Nov. 27.

• Boston College leads the all-time series with Colgate at 6-0-1 … head coach Katie Crowley is 4-0-0 against the Raiders.
• Mercyhurst leads the all-time series against BC at 6-3-0 … Crowley is 2-2-0 against the Lakers.

A CLASSIC BC-BU BATTLE
• The Eagles last played on Sunday, Nov. 21, falling to the Boston University Terriers, 5-4, in another wild Battle of Comm Ave at Walter Brown Arena.
• The Eagles came back to tie the game on three separate occasions.
• BU jumped out to a 2-0 lead less than five minutes into the game but Caroline DiFiore scored her first of the year and Sidney Fess potted the first of her career for a 2-2 score at the first break ... the hosts scored the lone goal of the middle frame but Caroline Goffredo pulled it even 20 seconds into the third period and then Kelly Browne responded to another BU score with a power-play goal ... the Terriers, though, scored the final goal with under five minutes to play.
• Abigail Levy finished with 40 saves for BC.
 
YEEHAW!
• This marks the second trip to Tennessee for the Eagles.
• BC holds a record of 0-1-1 in the state ... the Eagles played at Ford Ice Center two years ago, tying a top-ranked Minnesota squad, 2-2, and falling to a second-ranked Wisconsin team, 5-3.
• Kelly Browne (1-2-3), Hannah Bilka (0-2-2), and Caroline DiFiore (1-0-1) have all registered points at Ford Ice Center.
 
IT'S WORTH NOTING . . .
• Keri Clougherty leads the Eagles in blocked shots with 19 while Alexie Guay and Sidney Fess have blocked 18 shots each.
• Abby Newhook is second in the nation and first among freshmen with four game-winning goals.
• Newhook has five multi-point outings this year, including two multi-goal games.
• Hannah Bilka has registered at least one shot on goal in all 66 contests that she has played for BC, putting multiple shots on goal in 58 of them ...
