Michael Jordan, other NBA figures back luxury watch startup

CHARLOTTE — The Queen City’s famed NBA owner is said to be expanding his investment portfolio once again, teaming up with other high-profile figures around the league to back WatchBox, a marketplace for luxury watches. According to a CNBC report, the startup says it raised $165 million in its latest financing round, with Charlotte Hornets majority owner Michael Jordan among the backers.

It’s not the first time Jordan, who is majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets, has ventured into the tech space.
