Psychonauts 2 has today launched its November 23 update, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. This probably goes without saying but just to be on the safe side, don’t go into this update expecting anything special. This is a single-player game that’s been released a few months ago and doesn’t currently have any planned DLC that’s been announced. With that in mind, this functions as more of a bug fix update set to simply clean things up a bit. That’s never a bad thing though, as a clean update is a great thing for those returning to the game down the line or enjoying it for the first time. Without further adieu, here’s everything new with Psychonauts 2 in its November 23 update!
Psychonauts 2 November 23 Update Patch Notes
- Fix intermittent hitches on PC.
- Fix water in Bob’s Bottles displays incorrectly in photo mode.
- Fix lighting issues in Strike City and Cassie’s Collection
- Fix dialog tree delay in Fatherland Follies.
- Fix Panic Attack not using its phantom attack during Psychoseismometer battles.
Yeah, there’s a good reason I said not to expect much out of this update. Psychonauts 2 is already a game that isn’t discussed much for a lack of polish, so the issues are few and generally aren’t urgent to be fixed. With that being said, getting them fixed should still be on Double Fine’s priority list, like it is right now. Having issues such as intermittent hitches and various attacks not working can be amazing for achievement hunters, completionists, or even those just experiencing a casual playthrough. Consistency is everything in a game like this, so the more consistency, the better. Hopefully, with the next update, a bunch more issues are tackled and taken care of.
Psychonauts 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. For more information regarding this update, check out the official Steam post.
