Today’s New World patch tackles the server time-jumping bug, lowers housing taxes

As we noted yesterday, a significant number of New World players have been affected by the bug whereby some servers basically become unstuck in time, leaping forward and causing chaos to in-game maintenance payments and territory control. An initial fix over the weekend apparently didn’t solve the issue, and the team had called the problem its “top priority.”

So maybe today’s patch will sort it out. The servers have returned from a three-hour downtime this morning specifically intended to “[reduce] occurrences of time skipping days ahead instantly on a world.” The mini-patch also apparently fixed a server crash, tidied up the frozen-player issue in overcrowded areas, and reduced housing taxes, albeit temporarily.

“To address the recent issue regarding duplications and exploits, we have temporarily lowered the weekly housing taxes by 90% until our monthly December update. We want to say thank you and we are sorry to our players who have been impacted by the recent issues. Company income from home ownership has been also raised to prevent loss of income during this period. This is a portion of additional compensation we will be rolling out in future patches.”
