The Atlanta Falcons’ lack of talent at the receiver position was evident even before they lost Calvin Ridley. Now with Ridley gone for an unknown amount of time Atlanta needs to begin to plan for life without Ridley.

Russell Gage and Tajae Sharpe have been Atlanta’s primary receivers over the last few weeks. The only thing they have managed to prove this season is neither player is a starter in this league. Both have had flashes and made big catches. However, consistency is needed from the position and Atlanta doesn’t have one player they can count on during any given play.

With an extra three days off after playing the Patriots on Thursday, one would hope Atlanta would look for possible solutions at the position. There is a myriad of options in free agency all with a better chance of improving this team than any of Atlanta’s depth receivers.

Recent free-agent addition Marvin Hall hasn’t made an impact and is without question not an answer at the position. Atlanta should try their luck in free agency again and give a veteran a chance to come in and work with Ryan.  They have nothing to lose at this point and still enough cap space to make a move by signing one of these three receivers.
