Mauricio Pochettino 'happy' at Paris Saint-Germain amid Manchester United links

Shortly after English Premier League club Manchester United parted ways with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the weekend, multiple reports linked current Paris Saint-Germain head coach and former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino with that vacancy and a return to England's top flight.

Pochettino is preparing his side to face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash at the Etihad but spoke with reporters Tuesday about rumors mentioning his alleged interest in the United gig.

"I am very focused on football," Pochettino explained, according to Mark Ogden of ESPN. "I am not a kid, I'm not a child, I spent my whole life playing football and now 12 years being a coach, we are in a business and the rumors are there.

"I completely understand what is going on — sometimes it is a positive or sometimes negative, but this kind of thing cannot distract me. What another club is doing is not my business and I am not going to make the mistake to talk. Things get misunderstood and out of context."

Pochettino added: "I am happy at PSG and so focused on trying to get the best result we possibly can against City."

Ogden added Pochettino has a relationship with former United manager and club legend Sir Alex Ferguson, and it's believed Ferguson could potentially convince the 49-year-old to orchestrate his exit from Paris and replace Solskjaer on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly reached out to former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane about taking over if Pochettino departs as soon as December or January. Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida tweeted Monday Zidane isn't pursuing the United job, adding fuel to the fire the World Cup winner is holding out to see if Pochettino leaves PSG for Manchester.
