NORTH PORT, Fla. (WPEC) — The man wanted for questioning in the murder of Gabby Petito took his own life, his family's attorney said Tuesday.

The attorney for the family of Brian Laundrie says Gabby's boyfriend died of a single gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death is suicide.
"Chris and Roberta are still mourning the loss of their son and are hopeful that these findings bring closure to both families," said Steven P. Bertolino in a statement. Authorities recovered Laundrie's remains in a nature reserve last month after weeks of searching.
Laundrie and Petito took a cross-country trip in July before she disappeared.

In mid-September, authorities found Petito's remains in Wyoming. Laundrie returned home alone in her van.
