The Tennessee Titans signed running back Dontrell Hilliard to their active roster from the practice squad, according to his agent David Canter of GSE Worldwide.

The Titans have yet to make the move official. Their active roster is full at 53 players, so someone has to be waived to create room.

Hilliard was a bright spot in Tennessee's loss to Houston last week as a practice squad elevation. He had seven carries for 35 yards, added 47 receiving yards and returned three kickoffs for 65 yards. He led Tennessee in yards per carry (5.0), targets (10) and receptions (8).

Coach Mike Vrabel on Monday had praised Hilliard for taking advantage of his opportunity.

Sunday had marked Hilliard's second game for the Titans as a practice squad elevation. He initially signed with Tennessee's practice squad in October.

Undrafted out of Tulane in 2018, Hilliard previously played for the Browns (2018-20) and Texans (2020).
