We're so glad the SKIMS Black Friday sale is a thing because we're officially *obsessed* with the brand. Yup, looks like Kim Kardashian is a powerhouse in more than one way because her shapewear label (which has recently expanded to sleepwear, swimwear and more) is legit amazing.
And it's a big deal, this whole November discounting thing, because SKIMS only puts on two sales per year. And it sure as hell comes through for Black Friday: this year SKIMS fans can get up to 50% off the brand's bestsellers, including the shapewear our fashion editors REALLY rate.

What does that mean exactly? Well, a lineup of underwear, loungewear and shapewear essentials alongside the brand's 'Cozy' collection, which is rarely ever on sale can now be yours for less.

'If you only buy one thing, make it shapewear,' says our eCommerce Editor Abigail Southan. 'It's a close call to find the best bit of the range, but the sculpting bodysuit is one of the brand's hero pieces. Whereas some control bodysuits can thicken at the waist, this one creates an hourglass shape without feeling restricted. It's difficult to get on, FYI, but it made me want to wear bodycon and bias-cut dresses again... Something I never thought I would do after 2012!'
If you have a pair of control knickers lurking in the back of your underwear drawer that only come out to play when you're in head-to-toe bodycon, things are about to change. SKIMS are LEGIT comfy, so they're basically designed to be worn every day (it's up to you, obvs, we're just saying it's an option).
Beyond that, Kim K has really rocked our world with a recent renaissance of the Noughties push-up bra (AKA the new Ultimate Bra) and recently made a case for nipples with the new Ultimate Nipple Bra, too. For those who've been hiding under a rock for the past two years, SKIMS is the intimates brand created by the one and only Kim Kardashian. People were sceptical at first, but when she burst on the scene with her shapewear, in an impressive array of nudes (we're talking nine shades, baby) and sizes ranging from XXS to XXXXXL, they soon changed their minds. Finally, inclusive control wear that felt body positive! Not to mention freeing, this stuff is so stretchy it's actually more comfortable than you might think – in short, it really works.

Um, yes! Although it doesn't call the sale Black Friday, exactly, but its bi-annual sale (yes, there are only two a year, sadly).
Does SKIMS take part in Cyber Monday?
Technically, yes. Although don't expect anything different today – most fashion brands just extend their Black Friday deals through the weekend and SKIMS is no different. Luckily, the brand has just dropped some new styles in its bi-annual sale so it's worth checking if the piece you've been lusting after is now that lil' bit cheaper for Cyber Monday.
What even is Black Friday?
Black Friday kickstarted in '30s America when the department store Macy's cashed in on the annual Thanksgiving Day parade (if you love Gossip Girl, you'll remember Dan and Serena watching it on TV in season six).
The term 'Black Friday' wasn't officially coined until years later, with the event becoming more of a thang during the big capitalist years of the '80s (ya know, Working Girl, Wall Street bankers and, um, all the independent ladies reading Cosmopolitan). FYI, it's always been manic AF, that's why we prefer to shop online from the smug comfort of our homes.
Amazon was the first retailer to bring Black Friday over to the UK, offering customers online discounts and deals on the same day as the sales in the US. Supermarket Asda was next, creating some serious fuss (and physical fights, for real) with huge discounts on TVs and tech in-store.
Soon the rest of the UK caught on to the potential pre-Christmas profit and the rest is history.
When is SKIMS' Black Friday sale 2023?
Black Friday falls on the 24th November this year, but sometimes SKIMS kicks off the discounting a lil' earlier, and 2023 is no different with the sale starting 2 days before actual BF officially begins. Cheers, Kim!
How much is SKIMS' delivery on Black Friday?
Most people do their Black Friday shopping online, so delivery is an important consideration. We recommend drawing up a wish list now so you don't do multiple orders on the big day – it's not great for your carbon footprint, ppl.
Because SKIMS is a US based brand, international shipping is a little bit pricey so we recommend stocking up on all your favourite basics on Black Friday in order to get your money's worth. SKIMS charges £10 for standard delivery which will take 10-16 business days to reach you. Or if you need it immediately (we're not judging), opt for the express shipping priced at £15.
