Though waistbands are often tighter around Thanksgiving, the week is shaping up to be a prime time for consumers to bag discounted jeans.
Retail sales during Thanksgiving week are expected to grow 10 percent year-over-year, according to Mastercard SpendingPulse’s latest holiday update, and denim brands and retailers stand a good chance to benefit from those gains thanks to early promotions online and in stores.
Here’s a look at some of the early deals on denim.
Guess
Cozy knits, sustainable denim and sequin dresses and sets are part of the Guess holiday gift guide. The occasion is also a key time to highlight its new home collection, including a range of faux fur pillows and throws in rich colors and animal prints. From Nov. 24-30, online consumers can enjoy 30 percent off the entire Guess website and free shipping on all orders, and receive a laptop case with orders of $125 and more. The same discount will apply to most in-store purchases as well.
Buckle
Denim-centric retailer Buckle is revving up for the season with a wide range of jeans styles and holiday-themed tees and knits for women, men and kids. Online shoppers can save up to 44 percent on jeans from brands such as BKE, Departwest, Rock Revival, Levi’s and more at Buckle.com.
Old Navy
Old Navy stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but shoppers can nab 50 percent off select categories online. The half-off event will continue online and in stores on Black Friday and through the weekend. As part of the retailer’s inclusive holiday campaign, Old Navy is offering Santa prints in various skin tones and is providing a free online “Santa BOOTcamp” to individuals that want to play the role of Santa this year. Trainees will learn the fundamentals of becoming Santa, including how to respond to kids’ frequently asked Santa questions, key phrases in both sign language and Spanish, and tactics for how to take the perfect photo.
Abercrombie
Beginning Wednesday, Abercrombie will offer 30 percent off online purchases for “cyber week.” The event will also include six days of “daily drops,” or limited-quantity products like plaid sleepwear, velour sets, dresses and band tees. The brand says the drops will “probably sell out.”
Nordstrom
Nordstrom introduced Black Friday deals as early as Nov. 4 and will add more for Cyber Monday, from Nov. 27-30. Highlights include Good American’s belted jumpsuit on sale for $64.97, Levi’s 501 mid-thigh shorts for $55.60 and Levi’s Prairie Trucker jacket for $76.80. The sale also include men’s Edwin Maddox slim fit jeans for $94.
Mavi
Available now, Mavi offers 30 percent off select jeans for Black Friday. Women’s styles on sale include the Molly Supersoft bootcut and the Kendra Supersoft straight-leg jean. Men’s styles include the Matt Deep Blue Stanford relaxed straight-leg jean, the Jake Williamsburg slim-leg jean and more. The jeans retail for $68.60 instead of $98.
Levi’s
On “Indigo Friday,” Levis.com offers 40 percent off and free shipping on most items now through Nov. 27. The same deal is available at Levi’s U.S. stores through Nov. 30. Items on sale span leather handbags and denim bucket hats to Sherpa Trucker jackets and the uber-popular High Loose Taper fit women’s jeans. Meanwhile, Levi’s outlet stores are offering 50 percent off storewide through Nov. 30.
American Eagle
Consumers can nab 25 percent off all American Eagle jeans now until Nov. 28. Deals include Jeans Redesign mom jeans for $44.96 and men’s AirFlex+ Athletic fit jeans for men for $29.96. Other items like tops, sweaters and sleepwear are 30 percent off.
