Sandra Bullock Has “Never” Been Approached By Marvel & Says Her Son Told Her To Turn Down Her Only Superhero Offer

Marvel Studios seems to have a knack for landing every major A-lister who is remotely interested in putting on a cape and tights for its films. At this point, it’s almost weird to find an actor who hasn’t at least been in talks with Marvel at some point. Well, except for Sandra Bullock.

In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Sandra Bullock was asked about the rumors that she could be in talks to play Madame Web in a new ‘Spider-Man’ spinoff film. She denies those rumors and flatly denies ever being approached by Marvel for a project.

“I don’t think I’m Marvel material,” Bullock said. “I’ve never been approached by Marvel. Never.”

That doesn’t mean Bullock has never been approached for a comic book film. The actress says that there was a non-Marvel offer several years ago that her son told her not to do.

“I was approached for something that wasn’t Marvel, but my son said not to do it,” she said. “It was kind of in the place that Louis felt I shouldn’t be… and he was actually right. I saw it when it came out and I was like, ‘Ooo! That’s unfortunate.'”

She wouldn’t go into detail about what the role was, but she did say it wasn’t for a DC film, either, hinting that it was a bottom-barrel sort of role. Looking back at the previous year’s films, particularly those around 5 or so years ago, it’s hard to figure out what it might be. Perhaps, she’s lumping “Power Rangers” in with superheroes? Or maybe she doesn’t consider “X-Men: Apocalypse” a Marvel film?

Bullock does concede that eventually “the internets will” figure it out.
