The Carolina Panthers lost a close game to the Washington Football Team on Sunday. However, it wasn't just any old game but one filled with revenge narratives. Cam Newton returns to Carolina against his former head coach Ron Rivera. Rivera gets a chance to show the Panthers they blew it by not keeping him around. However, there's one big revenge narrative that probably shouldn't have been overlooked.

Washington Football Team kicker Joey Slye, who was cut by the Panthers, had one of the best games of his career in helping his new team beat his former employer. Slye took to social media to do a little old-fashioned trolling but his wording implied that Cam Newton was one of the targets of his wrath. Or was he?

This is expert-level trolling by Joey Skye, also known as the ‘Swole Tweeder.' Not only did he get a dig in at the Panthers but he also paid homage to his buddy Cam Newton by using Newton's triumphant “I'm back” roar. How in the world does one get the nickname Swole Tweeder?

Just in case, Slye clarified that the new Panthers signal-caller wasn't his target by posting a picture of he and Cam Newton, saying that his gripe had nothing to do with Newton. But wait, there's more layers to this story.

This wasn't the first time Slye had a chance for revenge against the team and coach who didn't want him. Slye was first a member of the Houston Texans, who were bested by the Panthers back in Week 3, with Slye making just one extra point. So not only is Slye an expert-level troller but he is also proof that the NFL gods do grant those who have been spurned second chances for revenge.

Truly heart-warming stuff.
