The Los Angeles Lakers will already be without LeBron James against the New York Knicks on Tuesday because of his suspension for elbowing Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart over the weekend. The Lakers could also be without fellow superstar Anthony Davis, who's dealing with flu-like symptoms (non-COVID related). Davis is officially questionable for the game, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

It's already a bummer that LeBron will be missing the Lakers' one trip to Madison Square Garden this season (assuming they don't play in the NBA Finals), and Davis sitting out as well would take even more juice out of the matchup. Of course, this would give Russell Westbrook the opportunity to deliver an iconic performance as Los Angeles tries to get over .500 in 2021-22.

The Knicks haven't been so great themselves, sitting at just 9-8 on the season after losing to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night. This will be a matchup of two historic franchises with high expectations trying to find themselves, and New York will have the advantage if the Lakers' top stars aren't able to suit up.

Davis has appeared in all 18 games this season despite several health scares. He's averaging 24.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.2 steals while shooting 52.2% from the field.
