Formula 1 legend Ralf Schumacher is certain Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has the advantage over archrival and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in the final races of the season.

The current Formula 1 season is now down to two final races. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is coming off back-to-back wins and will be hoping to carry the momentum to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen, on the other hand, who fell short-handed in the last two races, is well aware that he has to make a statement comeback in order to end the year as the best Formula 1 driver in the world.

Weighing in on the Hamilton vs. Verstappen rivalry, Michael Schumacher's younger brother Ralf concluded that Hamilton's Mercedes has a better winning project this season. As for Verstappen, Ralf suggested that the Dutchman may have been the hardest working guy out there but what he really “lacked” all this time is “luck.”

“The Mercedes [team] is currently the more stable package,” Schumacher assessed via Give Me Sport. “Max [Verstappen] gives everything and shows how good he is. Under normal circumstances, though, he doesn't stand a chance.”

“Maybe he'll have the luck he has lacked so far,” he continued. “If he had this [luck] at the beginning of the season, he might already be World Champion now.”

Hamilton and Verstappen are expected to meet each other again at the top two in the final two races of the year. As it stands, the latter still leads all Formula 1 drivers in the standings and is currently holding on to his eight-point advantage over the Brit.
