And so, more than ten years after FFXIV was released, we find ourselves on the verge of the release of Endwalker, the latest expansion for the game. But does it represent the end of Final Fantasy 14? Are we about to play the final expansion for the game? Or are there plans for something else? Read on, for everything we know about Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker, and whether or not this will be the last expansion for the game.

Is Endwalker The Last Expansion?

For fans of the long-running game, there may be some concern at the idea that Endwalker may, in fact, represent the last expansion for the game. So let's deal with that straight away. Square Enix has already confirmed that this is simply the end of this particular saga. In a tweet back in February, they said "As they say, the end of one story always leads to the beginning of another..."

In other words, while the tale of Hydaelyn and Zodiark is coming to its conclusion, there is nothing to suggest that this is the final expansion as a whole. It simply means that there will be an opportunity for a new storyline to begin. Feel free to breathe a huge sigh of relief.
