Sick Of 'GTA Trilogy', One Fan Is Remaking 'San Andreas' From Scratch

You must surely know by now that Rockstar’s rerelease of the GTA Trilogy hasn’t gone down too well with fans. There are complaints of glitches, visual changes, and more that the player base isn’t happy about and Rockstar has promised to improve the game to fans’ standards. However, even though that might be the case, there is at least one fan who is sick of waiting and is going to work on their own remake of San Andreas instead. 

As reported by Dark Side Of Gaming, Reddit user MapEditorMaster has posted a video of their first steps into making an entire Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remaster and it already looks excellent. The video is short and sweet and doesn’t show any gameplay yet but it’s certainly more visually impressive than you’d expect from a one-person project. 

It shows a little of Grove Street and an overview of the area. And when commenters point out that this is the sort of thing that Take-Two may send a DMCA notice for, they reveal a little more about how this project was made. They say: “ROCKSTAR cant touch this for simple reasons... (I could be wrong). So this is all built in the Far Cry 5 Dunia engine. Rockstar is not allowing their game to be modded or any of the original files to be tampered with. Most all remakes/remasters of GTA games are just people running the OG files through software that renders it into modern game engines like UNREAL... I BUILT THIS FROM SCRATCH (no mods) AND WILL POST THE ENTIRE PROCESS I HAVE MUCH TO SAY.”
