History was made on the 30th season finale of “Dancing With the Stars” last night when the first NBA player to compete was named the winner of the Mirror Ball Trophy.
The 30th season of the show on ABC also featured the first same-sex dance partners.
The Mirror Ball Trophy was awarded to NBA basketball star Iman Shumpert and his professional dance partner, Daniella Karagach.
In second place were popstar JoJo Siwa and her professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson.
Finishing in third place were celebrity fitness guru Cody Rigsby and professional dancer Cheryl Burke and in fourth place was talk show host Amanda Kloots and her dance partner, Alan Bersten.
“Dancing With the Stars” is hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks. The ballroom dance experts and judges are Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman.
Last night, however, Hough was replaced by his sister and dancer, Julianne Hough, because he tested positive for COVID-19.
