- Max makes it his mission to say goodbye to everyone and give them gifts on his ilast day, but he doesn't get any of the reactions he expects since everyone seems mostly disappointed.
- The new guy that interviews with Iggy for a job, Trevor, hits on him. Iggy gets a good laugh about it when he talks to Martin
- Lyn's been avoiding Floyd, and he tries to talk to her.
- Leyla confronts Lauren about the bribe/donation that she made. Lauren admits that she donated $90k
- Helen and Max are prepared to leave with nothing else to do but to get on the plane, but Max is still in his feelings about no one wishing him well when he left and he finds a reason to head back inside to Helen's disappointment when he has to give his pager back
- The pager goes off on his way inside and he responds because they have nine code blues at the same time.
- Nine patients died from a bacterial infection at the same time. Fuentes is away.
- The superbug can spread through wounds and they have to figure out where it came from and how its spreading as more patients have tested for it.
- Max and Helen take charge not leaving.
- Iggy has to tell the parents of his patient that their son died.
- They initially think that Iggy and their son is pranking them.
- Max calls in the CDC and he faces a younger guy who spouts off all of his experience.
- Simon learns that the bacterial infection is antibiotic resistant and not even the best anti bacterial it has will work.
- Max suggests crispr.
- Iggy is still working to convince Calen's parents that he's dead. He takes them to the morgue to see him, and it finally hits. The mother cries and the father punches Iggy in the face.
- Walsh gets the infection and is critical condition.
- Helen narrows the outbreak down the ED.
- Crispr doesn't work when they lose another patient. Lauren is worried about Walsh. Helen tests everything in the ED if possible.
- Max suggests they test all the antibiotics that aren't on the market and have been pulled.
- Kalen's parents blame each other.
- Max talks about his sister dying there of a similar infection and how helpless he felt and how he can't leave New Amsterdam the same way.
- Thanks to the residents, Helen figures out that the source of the infection is the ice machine.
- Floyd's transplant patient can't use the organs because of the ice used to keep the patient cool which means his patient won't get the lungs she needs before she dies.
- Max and Simon figure out that they have to use tulmecide from the 50s which got pulled for causing severe kidney failure and they propose simultaneously putting patients on dialysis.
- Walsh suggests that they try to solution on hm first.
- Walsh codes and they revivie him. He survives and wakes up.
- They give Floyd the okay to do his lung transplant.
- Lyn tells Floyd that she's pregnant.
- Leyla tells Lauren why what Lauren did was terrible.
- Max and Helen leave.
