Peter Karroll – “Coming Home”

/

“Coming Home” is a moving new single/video from Canadian artist Peter Karroll, inspired by war stories from Peter’s father, Edward John Karroll (1922 – 1984). The emotive vocals and twangy guitars drive to a moving “I’m coming home tonight,” refrain past the one-minute mark. Aesthetically, there’s a likeness to Roger Waters’ songwriting, similarly of his father in battle for the inspiration of “When the Tigers Broke Free.” Karroll’s “Coming Home” plays effectively with the minimalist guitar lines throughout, the vocal sample past the three-minute mark meshing with frolicking guitars in driving to the “coming home tonight,” hook.

“Coming Home” is the first single and video from Karroll’s upcoming album, also entitled Coming Home.

“Coming Home” and other memorable tracks from October can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2021’ Spotify playlist.
