Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Former Emmerdale star Dominic Power is joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
The actor, perhaps best known for playing Debbie Dingle's killer ex-lover Cameron Murray in Emmerdale, has been cast in the Channel 4 soap as new resident Dave.
Dave appears outwardly friendly and kind, yet the residents of Hollyoaks will eventually find out that there is much more to this newcomer that meets the eye.
The village residents' new neighbour is carrying some dark secrets that could prove to be life-changing for himself and others in Hollyoaks when they are revealed.
Viewers will first meet Dave as he squares off with Theresa McQueen over the sale of a dollhouse, then becomes embroiled in a dispute over the McQueens' home.
"It's an honour to be part of such an iconic British soap. Can't wait for the Hollyoaks fans to meet Dave," the actor has teased.
Dominic Power's first appearance as Dave in Hollyoaks is set to air first on E4 on Wednesday, December 1, before being repeated the following night on Channel 4.
The Kent-born actor will be a familiar face to many even aside from his notorious stint in Emmerdale as a soap killer, having appeared in the ITV police procedural Unforgotten.
Power also played PC Leon Taylor in more than 100 episodes of The Bill, and has racked up credits in Casualty, Doctors, EastEnders and Grange Hill throughout his career.
The star's memorable run in Emmerdale as murderer Cameron Murray saw him claim the lives of Carl King (Tom Lister), Alex Moss (Kurtis Stacey) and Gennie Sharma (Sian Reese-Williams).
Cameron was finally brought down in a truly violent fashion too, having been electrocuted during a flood when he was trapped in the pub's cellar.
Will Dave turn out to be a wrong'un like Cameron was in Emmerdale?
Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
