The San Francisco Giants are fresh off one of their best seasons in recent history and will be looking to repeat their success in 2022. In order to achieve that, they'll need to address the rotation. Entering Monday, the only starting pitcher the Giants had under contract was Logan Webb.

Well, they did just that on Monday afternoon. The team announced via Twitter that they had reached a three-year deal with right-hander Anthony Desclafani, which is reportedly worth $36 million.

Additionally, FanSided's Robert Murray reported that the team was also finalizing a deal that would bring Alex Wood back to the Bay Area. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Wood's new contract is expected to be for two years and worth upwards of $10 million annually.

Both played a pivotal role in San Francisco's successful 2021 campaign. Desclafani had a career year to the tune of a 13-7 record with 152 strikeouts across 167 2/3 innings on the mound. He maintained a 3.17 ERA throughout the year, a vast improvement from his disastrous 2020 season with the Cincinnati Reds, during which he had a 7.22 ERA. His consistent play throughout this past season was enough for the Giants to reward him with a fresh three-year contract.

As for Wood, the left-hander went 10-4 in 2021 with a 3.83 ERA. He struck out 152 batters over 138 2/3 innings in what was his best season since he was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Both players joined the club in the offseason on team-friendly deals and staged bounce-back seasons, for which they have been rewarded. Giants fans will be ecstatic to have the pair back as the team looks to round out the rest of its rotation this winter.
