Snapshot: Tree clearing in Boiceville for bridge replacement project

Trees have been cleared adjacent to the parking lot of the Boiceville end section of the Ashokan Rail Trail as seen on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, for the staging area of future bridgework going over the Esopus Creek, including the Five Arches Bridge.  The work is part of a $33 million state project that will replace two bridges along state Route 28A, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection has said. The project will also relocate about one-half mile of the roadway and expand the Boiceville Bridge Trailhead for the Ashokan Rail Trail. (Tania Barricklo/Daily Freeman)
