Who were the most disappointing Carolina Panthers during their disappointing loss to the Washington Football Team in Week 11?

There was an emotionally-charged atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium when the Carolina Panthers took on the Washington Football Team in Week 11. Few would argue this wasn’t the most anticipated regular-season game for quite some time, with fate seeing Cam Newton and Ron Rivera both return to the franchise for completely different reasons on the same afternoon.

For Newton, it was a chance to start in a Panthers uniform once again.

As for Rivera, he got the chance to gain revenge on a team that fired him during the 2019 campaign.

Matters on the field also meant a significant amount for Carolina, who were looking to enhance their playoff chances with another victory. This was not to be as Washington played the role of party spoiler superbly to ensure Newton’s solid performance under center did not end with a win.

Without further ado, here are the five most disappointing Panthers from their Week 11 loss.

Expectations were surprisingly high for Jermaine Carter at the start of the season. Although his production hasn’t been up to the level many predicted, the former fifth-round pick’s contribution has still been solid if not spectacular throughout the campaign.

The Maryland product’s gap discipline was a real problem where his overall contribution was concerned in the run game. Something that allowed Washington to gain meaningful yards on the ground en route to victory.

There was a chance for Carter to make a significant play late on when he had Taylor Heinicke in his sights on fourth down, but he was unable to wrap up the quarterback en route to converting the opportunity.

This was just how things went for Carter on the day. If things continue in this fashion, then he might not get the lengthy extension he’s after
