BOCA RATON — A single-car crash killed an 18-year-old Deerfield Beach man and injured three other teens Sunday night in suburban Boca Raton, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Jacob Fajardo was a passenger in a Hyundai Genesis that struck a tree on Southwest 18th Street about 9:45 p.m., according to a PBSO crash report.

The sedan was eastbound on the 9500 block, between State Road 7 and Lyons Road, when the driver lost control while turning north onto Barwood Lane, PBSO said. The car jumped the wet road's shoulder and hit the tree, injuring the driver and all three passengers.

The PBSO report does not say whether Fajardo died at the scene or at a hospital.

One passenger sustained critical injuries. The driver and the other passenger sustained serious injuries, PBSO said. All are teenagers.

None of the teenagers was wearing a seat belt, according to the report. PBSO found no drugs or alcohol in the car.

The report does not say how fast the car was traveling at the time of the crash.
