Chas Dingle has stunned her family by flirting with Al Chapman while Paddy is away in Emmerdale.

Al has been pushing forward with a plan to sabotage the Woolpack with some bad business investments as a way to eventually turn the land into luxury apartments.

In Monday's (November 22) episode, Chas surprised Marlon by arguing on behalf of Al's changes to the pub's craft ale and new uniforms.

"Al's right, we need a new approach," she insisted.

Al's plan continued working, as Marlon rowed with Chas right in front of him about how she'd ruined his "job satisfaction" by constantly taking Al's side over his.

Once Marlon sulked off to the kitchen, Chas revealed to Al that people were starting to notice their chemistry and that's exactly what she didn't want while Paddy was away.

"So, there was a chance of that, yesterday?" Al asked, with Chas shooting back: "No chance, at all."

Yet, the opposite turned out to be true later on when Al confessed to Chas that he couldn't stop thinking about her… and Chas admitted she'd been thinking of him too.

"I can't be around you every day and not tell you how I feel," Al told her. "I want you, Chas, I want you so much, it hurts."

Al encouraged Chas to "finish what [they] started" with one kiss to see how they really felt. As Al leaned in, Marlon entered the room and realised he'd interrupted a romantic moment.

"Now I'm thinking maybe now is not the best time to talk cheese," Marlon angrily quipped.

As Marlon pulled Chas aside, she tried to cover what had been happening by insisting Marlon's mind was "in the gutter" for believing anything romantic was going on with Al.

"Paddy adores you, and you two have just emerged from a couple of years that would have destroyed most people," Marlon warned her.

Chas told Marlon to save his warnings, leaving him to confront Al in the village later on instead. Al snidely reminded Marlon that he'd previously stolen away his ex-wife Jessie.

"[She] didn't take much convincing to be honest. Women never seem to with me," Al shot back.

While Marlon continued to argue with Al over the way he was pursuing a married woman, Cain overheard the conversation and later admitted his dismay to Marlon over Chas's decision-making.

"I couldn't stop him breaking Debbie's heart, but no-one messes with my sister," Cain vowed. "By the time I'm done with him, he's not going to bother another woman again."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
