Nike Air Force 1 Sneakers: Still in Style after Three Decades

Eddie Bom Fim '24, Contributing Writer

Nike’s Air Force 1’s have been in style for the past three decades. I personally own a pair of white low top Air Force 1’s; and what I like about them is that they are unisex, comfortable, and match with every outfit.

Air Force 1’s are great shoes to wear to school with because it’s easy to style the shoe with any fit. They do cost anywhere from $90 to over $100; they are worth it because they last a long time. Although they do sometimes get dirty, they are easy to clean with water and dishsoap. Air Force 1’s also come in a variety of colors. You can also get them customized.

The popular sneaker was designed by Bruce Kilgore and introduced in 1982. It was the first ever basketball shoe to feature Nike Air technology which would revolutionize basketball and sneaker culture forever (https://www.nike.com/air-force-1).

Air Force 1’s are really popular among high school students.

Sophomore Lola Hudnall shares, “I love mine. They are comfortable and they complete any outfit. Mine are multi-colored and low top.”
