Linn named Cooperator of the Year

Guernsey Soil and Water recognized Dave Linn as the 2021 Guernsey SWCD Cooperator of the Year. Linn has been an participant in the Muskingum Watershed Conservation District’s cover crop program since 2019. By participating in this program, he is helping to stop soil erosion by ensuring his crop ground is always covered.

Christmas Tea at the Victorian Mansion Museum 

The Belmont County Historical Society will host a Christmas Tea at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 3-4, at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum, 532 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. Entertainment will be provided. Admission is $20 and includes food, beverage, and museum tour.

Doudna named to Dean's List 

Jacob Doudna of Quaker City has been named to the summer 2021 trimester Dean's List at Palmer College of Chiropractic's main campus in Davenport, Iowa.

Amateur radion club to meet 

The Cambridge Amateur Radio Association will meet at 10 a.m.  Saturday in the Guernsey County Administration Building, 627 Wheeling Avenue.  

Cambridge Municipal Court receipts

The Cambridge Municipal Court has released its receipts for October 2021.

Receipts from the criminal division totaled $111,081.69, including $75,091.60 paid to the city, $22,746.62 to the state, $9,604.67 to the county and $3,638.80 in miscellaneous payments. The city treasurer received $91,316.15.

During October, 413 cases were filed, including:

  • 284 traffic cases
  • 51 criminal cases
  • 58 civil cases
  • 6 small claims
  • 14 miscellaneous cases.

No jury trials were held. There were 72 probation intakes and court was in session 20 days.
