No One's Raining on Billy Porter's Parade in This Show-Stopping Red Carpet Look

We don’t know if the weather called for a chance of rain at the American Music Awards last night, but Billy Porter wasn’t taking any chances.

The Pose star showed up wearing an ensemble that would’ve looked perfectly at home in an adaptation of Singin' in the Rain, with an aqua blue top and matching pants courtesy of clothing designer Botter. However, the highlight of the 52-year-old actor’s ensemble was the giant umbrella headpiece in the same color.

To round things out, Porter paired the monochromatic ’fit with black platform boots. He also sported giant statement rings featuring large emerald and silver gems. One ring was even cut in the shape of a star.

According to Vogue, there was an environmental aspect to Porter's outfit, too. Apparently, the aquatic-wear label used recycled plastic to construct the garments.

Porter showed the outfit off on his Instagram and said, “Making it rain on the @amas red carpet.” He also posed in front of a matching, multicolored background for a photo taken by Benjamin Askinas.

At this point, Porter is practically a master when it comes to campy accessories. The actor brought out a different eye-popping headpiece at the Grammys last year, when he wore a giant blue bucket hat with retractable fringe hanging from the sides. The remote-controlled headwear was a collaboration between Scott Studenberg and Sarah Sokol.

Meanwhile, at the 2019 Emmys, Porter channeled ’70s disco with a custom cowboy hat from Stephen Jones. And then later that year, he rocked a modern art-style headpiece that the internet deemed the “pizza hat.”

Billy, you never fail to surprise us with your outfits.
