ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — It's time to get in the holiday spirit with St. Petersburg's annual Holidays in the Sunshine City! The events run from November 27 to January 2. 

Starting this Saturday, you can enjoy some holiday cheer with a Tree Lighting at North Straub Park, 400 Bayshore Drive NE. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Mayor Rick Kriseman will light up the downtown tree at 7 p.m. Admission is free. 

Kids can meet Santa at North Straub Park on Dec. 4 and 5, Dec. 10-12, and Dec. 17-23, from 6 - 9 p.m. Visits and pictures with Santa are free!

Have a Holly Jolly time with the whole family at this year's newest event, Cookies with Santa! On Dec. 10 and Dec. 17, decorate Gingerbread cookies, meet Santa and his elves, and purchase small gifts for family and friends. The event runs from 6-8 p.m. at the Pinellas Pioneer Settlement, 3010 31st St. S. Admission is $10 per person and you can reserve your spot here

Want to 'Chat With Santa?' Kids can chat with Santa for free from Dec. 14-16. Children must be 8 years or older and registration is required. The deadline to register is Dec. 10. 

The holiday fun continues with Snowfest on Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in North Straub Park. There will be toboggan slides for adults and children, inflatables, arts and crafts tents, food trucks, and more. The $5 wristband includes all activities and can be purchased beforehand or on the day of the event

Cap off the holiday season with a drive-in holiday movie experience featuring Home Alone and activities for the family at Crescent Lake Park, 1320 5th St. N. The free event on Dec. 18 starts at 8 p.m., however, spaces are limited. 

One annual event the city had to cancel this year was the Santa Parade due to a decline in public entries.
