After seeing Ohio State roll past the Spartans this past Saturday, former Buckeye quarterback and ESPN analyst, Kirk Herbstreit, is showing OSU some love in his latest top four plus two ranking.
Herbie has finally seen enough to move the Buckeyes up to No. 2 and drop Alabama to No. 3 after Week 12.
It makes perfect sense. OSU beat the No. 7 team in the country by 49 points, and Bama beat the No. 21 team by only seven points. The Buckeyes are simply playing better than the Tide at the moment. We’ll see if the playoff committee sees it that way when the new rankings are revealed on Tuesday evening.
We know Ohio State will move up after Oregon fell at Utah, but where remains the mystery. I’m not as hopeful as Herbstreit. The committee has shown its love for Alabama more times than not. Here’s a look at Herbie’s list after Week 12.
