Netflix has officially renewed League of Legends prequel TV show Arcane for a second season.
Co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee seemed pretty excited about the news in a statement, saying (via TVLine): "We're beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane's first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second instalment."
The final three episodes of season 1 only just recently hit the streaming service, so the overall viewing figures have clearly been strong enough to merit its return.

In the animated fantasy, Hailee Steinfeld (Disney+'s Hawkeye) voices Vi, while Yellowjackets actress Ella Purnell and Harry Potter's Katie Leung also have roles, and they'll all be coming back for season 2.
The action traces the delicately poised relationship between the wealthy city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun.
"Tensions between these city-states boil over with the creation of hextech — a way for any person to control magical energy — in Piltover; and in Zaun, a new drug called 'shimmer' transforms humans into monsters," explains a synopsis.
"The rivalry between the cities splits families and friends as Arcane brings life to the relationships that shape some of League of Legends' famous champions including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor."

Switching back to Hawkeye, Steinfeld's other big project right now, the actress herself has admitted that she found joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe a daunting prospect to begin with, but one that all went pretty smoothly.
"It felt like a very sort of smooth entrance into this universe. And I think I owe that to the people around me – and Jeremy [Renner]," she exclusively told Digital Spy.
"I mean, right away, I feel like where I might have thought I was in any way prepared for this, given what I have done in my career, in my life, previously… I feel like you knew, and this was just going to be something different and of its own kind. And it was."
Arcane season 1 is available on Netflix, with a second season now in the works.
