Report: Steelers DL Cameron Heyward not expected to be suspended for hit on Chargers QB Justin Herbert

Midway through the fourth quarter and trailing 27-20 in Week 11 on "Sunday Night Football", Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward watched Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert take off for a 36-yard scramble. Heyward stayed with the play and eventually tracked down the second-year signal-caller to save a would-be touchdown, but in the ensuing pile, appeared to punch Herbert.

Following the contest though, Heyward had an explanation for the play.

The NFL seems to be buying Heyward's explanation and although the four-time Pro-Bowler could be fined, it looks like he won't face a suspension.

The Chargers ended up winning the game 41-37 to improve to 6-4 on the season. The Steelers are now 5-4-1.
