PSG travel to face Manchester City in their penultimate group stage clash in the Champions League looking to take a huge step towards qualification for the knockout stages.

Mauricio Pochettino's side trail City by a point at the top of Group A after they were held in Germany by RB Leipzig on their last European outing earlier this month.

They currently occupy a near-unassailable position atop Ligue 1 after their 3-1 win over Nantes at the weekend, but the performance levels under Pochettino this season haven't always satisfied the PSG faithful.

Here's how the Argentine could line his side up.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) - Missed the win over Nantes with illness and faces a late fitness test, but he could make a return this midweek.

Achraf Hakimi (RB) - One of the captures of the season in European football, with his speed and athleticism from full back sure to worry City.

Thilo Kehrer (CB) - His performances have helped soften the blow of Presnel Kimpembe's injury for Pochettino.

Marquinhos (CB) - The experienced figure in the PSG backline after Thiago Silva departed a few seasons ago.

Juan Bernat (LB) - Only recently returned from injury and looks to be Pochettino's preferred choice in the position.

2. Midfielders

Leandro Paredes (CM) - A classy operator, capable of screening the defence while also boasting composure on the ball.

Idrissa Gueye (CM) - The former Everton man offers energy in midfield, helping to provide the base for the attacking trip to weave their magic.

Marco Verratti (CM) - PSG improve immeasurably with the Italian in the side, thanks to his ability to prise open defences.
