Last week, it seemed that Evil Geniuses were in dire straits. After all, two members had left to join different Dota 2 teams. But now, fans have nothing to worry about as the team has signed none other than Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka.

If you’re wondering, yes he is that "JerAx," the same person considered as one of the game’s best support players. He originally made the decision to retire from professional play back in January 2020. Known for his plays with heroes like Earth Spirit, Tusk, and Rubick, he continued to be part of the community as a streamer. It was just recently when talks suggested that he might go back to the pro stage when he removed the OG banner from his Twitter account.

In a post, EG Head Coach Sam “Bulba” Sosale shared that they are excited to be playing with JerAx. The whole team, according to Bulba, can’t wait to get started and show everyone the potential of the new roster.

JerAx is not alone in joining EG as he is joined by Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko. Nightfall was part of the Virtus.pro roster that dominated Eastern Europe during the last season. However, that roster fell short of expectations. Nightfall was one of the players placed on inactive status.

While Nightfall is relatively new to the pro scene, it looks like EG has confidence in him citing “his skill, hard work, and approach to the game.” He joins EG as an offlane player.

Talking about Nightfall, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev shared that he is excited about this roster change. He added that he likes the idea of a carry player switching to an offlane considering that these two roles often interact.

EG’s roster is now composed of:

  • Position 1 – Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
  • Position 2 – Abed “Abed” Yusop
  • Position 3 – Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
  • Position 4 – Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
  • Position 5 – Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka
  • Coach – Sam “Bulba” Sosale

Exciting times are ahead for the new DPC season not just for North America but for the entire competitive scene.

What do you think are EG’s chances with this new roster?
