Since 2018, Mountain Home has had a location to offer healthcare services to veterans that might have been required to make a trip to Little Rock for such needs. The Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) for veterans is located in the Twin Lakes Plaza at the corner of U.S. Highway 62B and Wallace Knob Road and offers a variety of services.

CBOC nurse manager Ashley Owens was a recent guest of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM, and she says the main service the clinic provides is primary care.

Other services offered to veterans by CBOC include audiology, COVID-19 vaccines, dermatology, nutrition, prescription refills, specialty care, urgent care, access to medical records and more. Owens says staff at the clinic also take mental health care serious.

CBOC did go through an expansion in 2019. It now offers veterans on-site physical therapy, post-operative treatment, pain treatment and strength and conditioning programs.

There are more services expected in the near future. Currently, the clinic offers tele-health visits for needs like audiology, but Owens says they’re preparing to offer telehealth for cardiology.
