Following the release of Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond, No Time to Die, attention has slowly but surely turned to the actor's successor.
Now, with a new era of Bond upon us, one of the frontrunners for the role has weighed in on the possibility of becoming the next 007.
We're of course talking about Henry Cavill.
Cavill has been repeatedly linked to the role of Bond over the years – with Digital Spy readers even voting him the best man for the job in 2020 – so it comes as little surprise that the actor has since revealed that "nothing is off the table".
Ahead of the return of The Witcher to Netflix, Cavill responded to Bond rumours in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Look," he began, when asked.
"I hate it when people start a sentence with, 'Look,' it sounds like they're lying about something."
He continued, carefully: "I think it would be very exciting to have a conversation with the producers. In an ideal world, I'd never have to turn anything down. Nothing is off the table.
"It's an honor to even be part of that conversation."
Henry's latest cryptic response comes just a few weeks after he revealed he was open to playing just about anyone in the next James Bond movie – including a villain.
"If Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G Wilson] are interested me in any capacity to be a part of their movies, then I will gladly have that discussion, and that would be something I'd be very keen to explore further," he said.
Will Henry get the chance to make up for his unsuccessful Casino Royale audition? Only time will tell.
