Stop & Shop donates 1,000 turkeys to Fulfill food bank in Neptune

NEPTUNE - On Friday, supermarket chain Stop & Shop donated 1,000 Thanksgiving turkeys to the Fulfill food bank on Route 66 here as part of its annual Turkey Express program. The turkeys were handed out alongside other holiday trimmings at a drive-up distribution.

Demand for Fulfill's services has increased dramatically over the last two years. Before the pandemic, Fulfill served 136,000 people, including 50,000 children. Today, Fulfill serves 215,000 people, including 70,000 children. Stop & Shop’s annual Turkey Express program will deliver more than 21,500 turkeys to hunger relief organizations in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island this holiday season.
