Vegas Golden Knights: Shea Theodore Injury Update

The Vegas Golden Knights have been one of the most injury prone teams in the National Hockey League thus far into the season. Each and every game, someone seems to get hurt or something bad happens. For some people, they enjoy the fact that they are having to face this part of hockey. On the other hand, I’d assume that most of the Knights fans are not happy with how many injuries they’ve had to witness.

Looking back, It’s crazy to think just how much things can change in just a short period of time. The Vegas Golden Knights defenseman: Alex Pietrangelo and Shea Theodore were getting torn apart by the media due to their rather pathetic start to the year. In what felt like just a day, the Knights defenseman seemed to start turning things around.

When talking about defenseman, Alex Pietrangelo, it’s hard to hold some of the stats against him. Pietrangelo is apart of the Knights power play, penalty kill, and he’s a starting defenseman for the Vegas Golden Knights.

He see’s more time on the ice than anyone else. So gauging some of the stats, it can be considered a little skewed. However, when talking about Shea Theodore, it’s a different story.

Shea Theodore is supposed to be a threat along the perimeter with his nasty slap shot and ability to make plays with the puck on his stick. However, this season has been rough to watch from him. That was until he was getting ripped by some of the people on social media. Similarly to Pietrangelo, Theodore managed to start getting back to the player we knew of him to be before this season. Unfortunately, it came a little too late. Well, at least for the time being.

Like a broken record, the Vegas Golden Knights have had to deal with injuries. Unlucky for the Knights, defenseman, Shea Theodore, got hurt right as he started getting back to the player we know him to be. Looking to get him back on the ice, it raises the question: Where is he at? How much longer will he be out?

Shea Theodore hasn’t really been a deciding factor in rather or not the Vegas Golden Knights win or not. At least, not this season. However, that doesn’t really mean that he’s not extremely important.

Theodore has done a lot of good for the Vegas Golden Knights this season and we all want to see him back out there. Theodore, when he’s out there on the ice and he’s playing like the player he is, he is a absolute threat. However, when making the decision on rather or not he’s ready to go, you need to do one thing: Make sure he’s actually healthy.

The worst thing you can do as a coach and a organization is rush the player back before he is ready. If the player is not ready to return, all you’re doing is putting him in a situation where he can get even more hurt than he was. However, with that being said, it’s time to talk about Theodore.

It was reported this morning by multiple people that he was back out there on the ice in a non-contact red jersey. Seeing him out there in non-contact jersey represents the fact that he still needs some time before returning to in-game action. However, seeing him back out there on the ice does give us hope that he’s not that far from a return.
