It appears the Montreal Canadiens will be getting some added help in net shortly. The Habs have sent goaltender
Cayden Primeau back to the AHL, which means
Jake Allen is likely set to return shortly.
Allen has not played since November 13th against the Detroit Red Wings. He left in the first period of that game after a collision with
Dylan Larkin, who was pushed into the net by
Jeff Petry. Allen was listed as day-to-day with a concussion. Since that time, the Canadiens have had to work with Primeau and Sam Montembeault, neither of which has much NHL experience.
There is still no word on when
Carey Price might be returning. He has yet to play this season after undergoing knee surgery over the summer and then entering the Player Assistance program right before 2021-22 began.
