Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs sent shockwaves throughout the NFL with a dominant victory over the Dallas Cowboys, 19-9. The score was not indicative of how lopsided the game was. After the game, Andy Reid addressed the media and let everyone know his thoughts.

That statement will probably make a lot of Chiefs fans happy to hear. You don't want to get too high and rest on your laurels. It was a good win vs a quality opponent, but it appears that is all it was to Reid.

Kansas City was all but left for dead a few weeks ago. They were sitting at 3-4, dead last in the AFC West. Their defense had been shredded on a weekly basis and Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense looked broken. Mahomes was turning the ball over at the highest rate of his career.

Well, it appears they have at least fixed the defensive side of the football. Chiefs defensive end Chris Jones recorded 3.5 sacks as the Kansas City defense put Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott under pressure all game. They forced Prescott into three turnovers, two interceptions and a strip sack fumble.

Prior to Sunday, the Chiefs were riding a season-high three game winning streak. Their defense had seemingly played very well during that stretch, but many wondered if that was because of the opponents. They played the New York Giants, the Green Bay Packers without Aaron Rodgers and a Las Vegas Raiders team that is in a free fall.

Dallas, however, came into the game Sunday as one of the league's best offenses. Yet, the Chiefs defense dominated them in every facet. Ezekiel Elliot was held to 32 yards rushing. Prescott struggled mightily.

Maybe Andy Reid is thinking of the fact that the Cowboys were without wide receiver Amari Cooper to start the game. The Cowboys then lost CeeDee Lamb right before halftime for the rest of the game. That certainly made it easier to slow down their offense.

I'm sure Reid definitely noticed that the Chiefs offense is still not clicking though. Patrick Mahomes turned the ball over two more times. He threw an interception and fumbled. The Chiefs ground game still left plays on the field. Even though they did get tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire back from IR Sunday and he led the team in rushing with 63 yards and a touchdown.

But when Kansas City entered Dallas' side of the field, the offense seemed to disappear. The Chiefs struggled on 3rd down as well. They were also flagged for a couple more personal foul penalties. So, it was far from a clean game for Kansas City.

Nevertheless, the Chiefs played far from a perfect game and Andy Reid seems like he is aware of that and is preaching exactly what he should.
