Derek Carr was down bad after the Las Vegas Raiders' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite a rather uninspiring performance from Joe Burrow, the Bengals smoked the Raiders in the fourth quarter, scoring 19 points thanks to two turnovers from Carr. Cincinnati won by a score of 32-13.

Carr took the blame for the loss and his mistakes when he spoke to reporters after the game.

There were times this season where Carr shined and the Raiders look like they could make noise in the playoffs. Las Vegas, at 5-5 on the season, still has time to secure a playoff bid but they've looked wildly inconsistent. After starting 3-0, they have gone 2-5 and fallen further in the AFC West standings.

Carr himself has some improvements to make, too. His total passing yardage is among the very top numbers in the NFL and his touchdown passes and completion percentage marks are pretty high on the league leaderboard, but so are his interceptions. While he has been a bright spot for the Raiders this season, he can still do more.

The Raiders' problems run deeper than losing top wide receiver Henry Ruggs and head coach Jon Gruden. Their defense surrenders points too easily and their offense is just decent. It'll take more than that to truly compete for the division crown, which becomes less likely as the Kansas City Chiefs continue to show that they've rediscovered their groove.
