WATCH: Chiefs TE Travis Kelce scores second career rushing TD vs. Cowboys

On a wildcat look in the red zone, the Kansas City Chiefs turned to tight end Travis Kelce to punch the ball into the end zone for their first score against the Cowboys.

Kelce has seen several looks from the unorthodox offensive formation this season, and he capitalized on it in a big way this time. The rushing score up the gut put the Chiefs up by six points early on in the matchup. It’s also the second rushing touchdown of Kelce’s career.

Check out his score here, and notice how unprepared Dallas was to defend it:

Kelce’s effort on the play gave Kansas City an early lead, which was supplemented by a Chiefs turnover on the Cowboys’ second drive of the game to go up by nine points in the first quarter. Everyone knows how deadly their offense can be to opponents, especially at home, but Kansas City seems to have turned a corner in Week 11 to get back into their world-beating form that fans have become accustomed to in recent seasons.

The All-Pro tight end is sure to leave his mark on this game beyond the opening score against Dallas, as this scrum has only just begun and the Chiefs’ offense looks to be in a rhythm early. They’ll need to put more points on the board to put this game out of reach against the Cowboys, but their hot has given them a huge advantage in a game that could extend their lead in the division.

Kelce has been a fixture on Kansas City’s offense since his second season in the league, and one of the best players at his position for the past several seasons. His dynamic abilities allow Andy Reid the luxury of catching defenses off guard in nearly every conceivable matchup against the best opponents the NFL has to offer, and have been a boon for Patrick Mahomes since he took over the starting role at quarterback in 2018.
