The New Orleans Saints listed quarterback/utility player Taysom Hill was active for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he didn't take the field in his team's 40-29 loss.

Hill was considered an an emergency backup quarterback for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported just prior to kickoff of Sunday's game in Philadelphia.

The BYU product would have only played if quarterback Trevor Siemian had to leave the game at some point.

Siemian finished 22-of-40 for 214 yards, three touchdowns and two intereptions, including one pick six.

Hill did not practice Wednesday and Thursday because of a foot injury and was limited in practice on Friday. He was considered questionable headed into Sunday.

Hill returned to action last week after missing a couple of games with a concussion.

The Saints have a quick turnaround for their next game, hosting the Buffalo Bills in New Orleans on Thursday.
